Allen Liversidge formed as a result of merging six independent gas companies. This was the birth of BOC and the companies were - Allen-Liversidge, HOPCO, The Oxygen Company, Usshers Oxygen and the Oxygen divisions of Lever Brothers and Herald Soap.
