Afrox's new Transarc OHE350 electronic arc welding helmet is attracting attention in the market place owing to its high quality and competitive price.
"This innovative new welding helmet provides optimal protection for the eyes during arc welding, as well as permanent protection against ultraviolet and infrared rays, heat and spark, in any state from clear to dark," says Afrox's Lourens le Roux. "This allows the user to see the point of arc strike precisely and efficiently."
The OHE350 is built to exacting professional standards and is designed for industrial welders who weld infrequently. It provides complete, reliable protection and is also lightweight and extremely comfortable to wear.
The shell is designed to reduce the amount of welding fumes in the welder's breathing zone and the new and unique headgear allows the user maximum adjustment and comfort. Headgear rake, head height and tension can be adjusted quickly and easily, while the head size is adjusted using a push and turn ratchet.
The OHE350 helmet is equipped with a high quality 4/9-13 electronic Auto Darkening Filter (ADF) lens. Switching time from clear to dark is approx 0.005 seconds (0.5ms), providing quick and effective protection.
The ADF lens changes from dark to light between 0.1 and 0.9 seconds depending on the lens settings. The lens provides complete UV and IR light protection in both dark and clear states and is powered by solar cells with an enclosed back-up lithium battery. The welding filters operate well under both extreme low light and very strong sunlight conditions, by simply adjusting the sensitivity of the lens.
Le Roux says the helmet can be used for a wide range of arc welding applications, including, MIG/MAG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), MMA (SMAW), plasma welding (PAW) and plasma cutting (PAC).
