Leading gases and welding company Afrox will showcase its fully integrated end-to-end technical solution under the theme “Total Gas & Welding Solutions Partner” at the Nampo 2013 Harvest Day.
Afrox Events Manager Mark Perfett says the company has always been more than simply a supplier of gas and welding products and it will use this year’s show as a platform to emphasise its extensive product range and latest process solutions offerings.
As part of its total welding solution, Afrox will showcase some of its key welding consumables for the agricultural sector, including stainless steel, low hydrogen electrodes, as well as hardfacing electrodes. Among the more common mild steel electrodes, Vitemax, Afrox’s leading premium electrodes for mild steel application, will be on offer, as well as Transarc 6013, a cost-effective electrode alternative recently introduced by Afrox, developed locally through extensive research and development.
Another recent introduction is Afrox’s proprietary range of heavy duty cutting equipment, torches and regulators under the brand name Saffire Legend 916.
Saffire Legend 916 heavy duty regulators come in three models — gauged, visual and pre-sets, all with 9/16" outlet connectors. The Saffire Legend 916 heavy duty cutting torch has 9/16" outlet connectors and carries ISO 5172 certification. This robust and safe torch has been a firm favourite with operators for many years. It has a cutting capacity of up to 460 mm thick steel, with a brass underslung cutting oxygen lever for comfort and ease of operation. The range includes SABS and BAM certified flashback arrestors, as well as SABS approved gas hoses for added safety and peace of mind.
Over the years, Afrox has supplied industrial gases to the agricultural market in the form of an exclusive offer named Agrigas. This offer is only available at selected co-ops in the agricultural market and has been designed to suit the needs of farmers. Agrigas offers the farmer the flexibility of keeping cylinders without having to pay a monthly rental for cylinders they do not utilise, as the rental fee is included in the gas price and is only charged when the gas is refilled. Currently the offer is available in Oxygen and DA in the following sizes. Oxygen 10.2kg and 4,6kg and DA 8kg and 4.6kg Afrox is looking to expand the range to include additional gas types in future. Afrox is pleased to announce that Agrigas will be part of its product range on offer at Nampo 2013.
Afrox is the largest supplier of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in South Africa, branded Handigas, which is an efficient and clean burning energy source ideally suited as an alternative to electricity which is in short supply and becoming increasingly more expensive. Afrox supplies a wide range of Handigas products that can be used either in an industrial or farming environment such as chicken broiler heating and in the domestic recreational market such as small cylinders, basic stoves and water heaters. To complement the theme of “Your Total Gas & Welding Solutions Partner”, Afrox will be selling a number of domestic appliances at the show so be sure to visit the stand.
Customer engagement
“Afrox is committed to continually evaluating customer requirements,” comments Perfett. “To this end, we constantly engage with various stakeholders in the DIY and light industrial markets to develop quality products in conjunction with our global suppliers, which meet and frequently exceed customer expectations.”
Adding to the current range of Transarc and Afrox industrial products, the company will introduce three new machines at Nampo which cater for the needs of customers in these segments. They are the Afrox Industrial TIG 185 AC/DC and Multiprocess 175, as well as the Transarc Plasma Cut 40. Together with the current range, these three machines provide customers with quality equipment for all their welding needs.
“Customers receive real value, both from a financial and a productivity perspective, by sourcing the necessary consumables, equipment and gases, as well as on site support and training, from a single reputable supplier,” he says. “As a full solutions provider with extensive process knowledge, leading-edge development programmes and expert resources, we’re committed to supporting industry with customer-specific, cost-effective solutions backed by a global supply chain.”
“We’re fully geared up to support the needs of customers in the agricultural sector across a spectrum of gas and welding requirements and we’re particularly excited about some new products that will be showcased at Nampo this year,” says Perfett. “Our professional technical team will answer questions, sell from the stand and offer special prices, competitions and giveaways. The team will also provide one-on-one demonstrations throughout the show’s duration.” The Afrox range of welding and cutting equipment, together with associated consumables, is available through co-ops, certain local distributors and Afrox retail outlets in the region.
