Afrox LPG distributor, Ulula Energy, is rapidly expanding its market share in the Western Cape with the launch of Afrox’s lightweight 5kg Safety Gas cylinders. The new cylinders, thousands of which have been imported into the region by Afrox, will compliment the 6kg Handipack cylinders already offered for sale to the public in low-income housing, residential sectors and light industry.
“We have been running our 6kg Handipack promo each month since July through stockists and activations at Makhaza Shopping Centre in Khayelitsha and we plan to continue with these activations at local shopping centres,” said Ulula’s Managing Director, Rizelle Sampson. “During the promo’s we were able sell the 6kg cylinder at a special discounted price and educate the public about the safe uses of gas at the same time. The arrival of the new 5kg Safety Gas stock will give Ulula customers the assurance that the Afrox/Ulula partnership provides peace of mind with a safe LPG cylinder, security of supply and convenience.”
Ulula Energy is a Level 1 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment business and an independent black South African woman-owned and managed LPG distributor. The company has an ongoing programme of events to encourage other small businesses in the informal sector to become Ulula Resellers (info@ulula.co.za), as well as educating the public on the safe use of LPG and its many advantages over paraffin and wood as a source of fuel for cooking, heating and lighting both inside and outside the home.
Ulula has also launched social media platforms – www.ulula.co.za, #UlulaGasSummerTip, #UlulaGasSafetyTip and #UlulaGasTips – to spread the word about LPG, Afrox’s safety standards and Ulula Energy as a supplier of choice and source of knowledge on the safe use of LPG.
“Afrox has imported stocks of 5kg Safety Gas cylinders as they are easier for people in town and rural areas to transport,” confirmed Gerhard van Wyk, Afrox National Business Manager LPG, “so we expect they should prove popular.”
